At some point after she returns to Atlantis full-time, yet prior to Christmas, Teyla had taken it upon herself to pursue some (more domestic activities). With the abundance of time that forced medical convalescence usually bestows upon its recipients, she not only completed the project, but had time to deliever them in the only way she knew how: she hung them on the shelf behind the bar in Olympus, so that when each staff member came on shift they'd find it waiting for them.

Among the most prominant, were the ones for her team and friends:

For John, a stocking with an F-16 fighter jet.
For Rodney, a stocking with as many physics equations as could be possibly fit on a single side.
For Ronon, a stocking with his gun.
For Jennifer, a stocking with a stethoscope.
For Carson, a stocking with a doctor's bag.
For Woolsey, a stocking with a puppy.

[ooc: If we've forgotten anyone, we apologize. We didn't mean to forget. And for those playing smaller roles, all the stockings are done in the same manner: hand-woven with a picture/item that pertains to the person instead of their name worked into it. So feel free to just run with it :) ]

She's in the Reading Library surrounded by yards and yards of string. It's all neatly coiled in little piles according to colour and thickness. She has a loom in her lap and is expertly making something rather festive-looking. She has a small tablet computer on a near-by table for easy reference.

She's also got one or two pieces finished, and it's evident to anyone that Teyla is once more making her traditional Earth-Christmas Decorations with an Athosian twist.

She's buggable, so feel free to have at.

With her people on Lantea's mainland, Teyla was torn between staying in the city and staying with her people. In the end, she had opted to stay with the humans from Earth. She owed them no less than whatever help she could give ion exchange for saving the lives of her and her people. Out of sympathy for the Athosian Leader, Dr. Weir had given Teyla the freedom to request travel between the city and the mainland whenever she wished, provided that there was no crisis occurring that would put either group in jeopardy.

This was how she came to be in the Jumper bay, awaiting her escort and pilot so she could spend a couple of days with her people and help them settle into their new home.

She had no idea how long they had been gone, just that they were and she was here in the infirmary all alone. She was wandering around, barefoot, and it was so very, very cold. Her arms were wrapped around her, and she swore she could see her breath puffing out from between her chattering lips. Never had she felt such a deep cold before. Her whole body shivered, and it there was nothing she could do to preserve any heat.

Her next step was halted, and the sole of her foot stuck to the floor. She tripped and fell forward, landing hard on her knees and right hand. Panting, she tried to push herself up and stand, but it was no use, each piece of skin that had come into contact with the ground was now irrevocably stuck. She tugged experimentally, but nothing budged. The need to find warmth quickly overrode caution, giving her abnormal strength in her desperation. With a snarl, she ripped her hands off the floor, one by one, followed by her knees, ignoring the pain as flesh was ripped from her body.

The blood burned as it ran down her chilled extremities, and she looked down at the injuries. She raised her right hand and examined it curiously, the flesh from her palm and the pressure points on all her fingers completely stripped, exposing raw tissue and muscle. The image burned into her brain and the searing pain had her eyes squeezing shut as she screamed, the sensations in her mind the same as the skin being rendered from her body when she stood. She fell forward again as the agony buckled her knees, the ground rushing up to meet her....

...she continued to fall, as darkness overcame her, and the anticipate impact with the floor never came. Instead, she was sitting bolt upright in the infirmary bed with a loud, startled whimper. Frantically, her eyes sought her right hand, the skin intact yet still burning as if she had grabbed a burning brand, her knees throbbing with phantom pains. The cool semi-darkness of the infirmary was soothing, and the nurse that had rushed to her side murmured nonsensical phrases as she coaxed the frightened Athosian back down onto the mattress.

She was shaking again, and her fingers brushed against her temple absently, as the lack of the presence her mind so desperately wanted was silently lamented. She prayed that John got a hold of Michael soon. She didn't know how much more of this she could take.

Teyla opened her eyes and noticed with some curiosity that her room had turned into a verdant field, her bed a luxurious and springy moss underneath a bower of verdant branches. The field was riddled with wildflowers, the likes of which she had never seen before, the brilliant reds exploding outwards from a black center and filling the air with a scent that smelled vaguely familiar. The sky was bright with a warm amber sun tracking slowly through the wispy clouds, its heat bathing her in a comfortable warmth. She climbed from her moss-covered pallet, the light fabric of her gossamer night gown (night gown? hadn't she gone to bed in sleep pants and a t-shirt?) brushing against her body, and her bare feet barely indenting the ground upon which she trod. She spread her arms welcomingly and threw her head back as she greeted the day, for a truly glorious day it was.

Answers ( for [info]colonelinblack)
She was looking for him, fairly certain of a few things at this point that she could give him an answer of sorts.

It had taken her almost two weeks to ponder his proposition, and when she was in his presence she saw him a little differently each time. And those little differences began to add up, turning into one big difference that had her fairly bouncing with energy. Her usual sparring partners eyed her suspiciously, as that extra bounce made her extra deadly in the ring, and her friends noticed the slight flush of her cheeks when his name filtered through in conversation.

And now, she realized she had gone from actively searching to randomly wandering, and the hallway she was in wasn't any that led to any more-frequently inhabited areas of the city, though it wasn't one of the off-limits ones, either. Oh well, the view from the balcony through the doorway located in the next juncture was a pretty one, so the journey wasn't a total loss.

She leaned against the railing, closing her eyes as the cool breeze sifted through her hair. She was too high up for the ocean's spray to hit her, but it was no matter. Enough of it was in the air that she could feel it all the same.

Just another glorious day on Atlantis, and she was happy to have found a quiet spot to enjoy it.

If one were so inclined, however, a life-signs detector could probably pinpoint the absent Athosian...

Heart-to-Heart (for [info]colonelinblack)
There seemed to much more going on under the surface of daily life on Atlantis than Teyla was aware of. Usually she had always had a bead on the finer workings of the politics that governed the Earth-people's relations with each other, but her being away so frequently in the last months, and the side-effects of her budding relationship had clouded her preception enough that she had completely missed the undercurrents. There was a delicate pressure building, and where she had once though it to be building between everyone, it had finally come to her attention that it was really building between her and John.

They were keeping secrets from each other, and while they had their past mysteries that didn't merit mentioning during the course of their firendship, this was different. This was something bigger, something that she suspected would alter the course of their friendship forever. And she suspected it might be due to her own concealed knowledge rather than his.

..Scratch that. She knew it would be due to her own concealed knowlege rather than his. While she hadn't done anything overtly dangerous to the safety of those she cared most about, she had kept a very dangerous secret, the partiuclars of whicvh she should have approached Colonel Sheppard with at the onset and not now, several months down the line.

It was time for them to ignite the building pressure and illuminate things before it became to late and rendered the fall-out irreparable.

She decided the best place for the shouting-match discussion was on one of the lesser used piers - and certainly not the pier favoured by nearly everybody; she couldn't taint the beloved area with what was about to happen - and so she sat cross-legged in light meditation, the mild breeze from the ocean dropping a cool mist of ocean water over her face as she waited for the one person she considered a friend closer than kin to arrive.

She prayed to the Ancestors that this would go well.

Girl Talk (for [info]suffers_vertigo)
With the tests out of the way and Carson working on his analysis, Teyla puttered around in her room, trying to tidy up a bit. Not that her room needed cleaning, but she was expecting company and she wanted to make the other feel at ease.

Her final preparations were a traditional Athosian tea spread, reserved for close friends and family, complete with finger-foods and sweets for two.

Now all she had to do was wait for Jennifer to arrive.

Confessional (for [info]saltire_patch)
Teyla had a secret, and recent events hadn't helped her in dealing with it. Seeing people with their companions at the party, and hearing details of budding relationships made her heart ache, and she had no one to talk to about it. She decided it was time to change that but really, who could she confide in? Sheppard would laugh uncomfortably and then restrict her to Atlantis, and Ronon...Ronon would probably track the man down and shoot him; McKay...best not to tell McKay anything, the man had a sensitive spot the size of a peach pit.

She wasn't sure why she was going to Carson - of all people - for this. She supposed it was because she felt he'd be less likely to judge her. And his aversion to violence was a definite mark in his favour, so this would be why she was knocking on Carson Beckett's door, trying to think of how she would tell him about this very odd, slightly disturbing secret of hers.

She only hoped that he could keep it, as his penchant for blurting out anything that made him uncomfortable was well-known, and this...whis would possibly make him more than uncomfortable.

Teyla took a deep breath and prayed that this conversation wouldn't go awry.

It seemed that Teyla was one of the few party-goers that managed not to get raging drunk the night before. Which was why she was on-duty in the Control Room when others *cough*Sheppard*cough* normally would have been.

Somebody had to keep the place running, and until someone officially in charge came in to relieve her, here she would stay and keep an eye on things.
